This page demonstrates the various options you have for page and post layouts. There are many others. These are the options that have been styled specifically for this website.

H2 Heading

This is a ‘Paragraph’ block set to its default width (768px maximum). Written content should not be too wide or people will find it hard to find the next line. Also, it’s helpful to break up written copy into short paragraphs with subheadings. Otherwise, the content looks like a ‘wall of text’ to people who are trying to scan the content.

H3 Sub-Heading

Headings and Sub-Headings are not meant to accomplish the style you want. They are meant for organizing content and helping your reader (and search bots) get a quick understanding of how your content is organized.

The Title of a Page or Post is set to always be an H1 Heading. Then you have H2, H3 and H4 Headings to organize your content. So, H2 Headings are your main sections. H3’s only go under H2’s. And H4 sub-headings only go under H3 headings.

There are better ways to get the style you want than using a heading. You can, for example, select any paragraph block and use the settings on the right to add emphasis with alignment, font size and background colors, and more… Remember to keep in mind that text against a background color needs to be high contrast.

H4 Sub-Sub-Heading

Here is an example of a standard text link. Best practice is make the text of the link indicate what will happen when your reader clicks on the link. So, download the PDF is better than click here for the PDF. Downloads should be set to ‘open in new tab.’ Also, if the link leads the reader to a different website, have it ‘open in a new tab.’

Another H2 Heading

This heading and paragraph are in a ‘Group’ block set to the WIDE width, with a background color. The WIDE setting is 1200px. Notice the text is too wide for people to read easily. This can be remedied in the settings (see the next section). Or you can use other types of blocks besides a paragraph.

And Another H2 Heading

This heading and paragraph are in a ‘Group’ block with a background color. The Group block is set to FULL width, and the Content is set to 768px. Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet consectetur adipisicing elit. Illum facere sunt qui veritatis ex culpa cumque quis quia explicabo. Unde in quo magni illo harum nostrum quaerat numquam. Architecto, cumque. Quote Blocks

This is a ‘Quote’ block. Usually used to quote an external resource.

This is what’s called a ‘Pull Quote’. More decorative, a pull quote is used to highlight something on or from your post.

This is also a Pull Quote, set to FULL width and a changed background color.
