Intern Spotlight: Monica Rodriguez

Monica is a UC Davis student who is interested in Riparian forest restoration.

She comes from Sacramento and has taken good advantage of her Winter and Spring 2024 internships here at the Nature Preserve. She’s learned a lot including

  • plant ID
  • planting methods
  • invasive species control
  • habitat planning
  • plant anatomy
  • plant phenology
  • plant growth requirements

Her favorite new skill is learning how to key plants with the Jepson eFlora Guide.

Overall, she has enjoyed successfully identifying plants and botany techniques as Ivy tested her with pop quizzes throughout the quarter
