Story Trail Grand Opening At Capay Open Space Park

One of our partner restoration projects in the region is the Capay Open Space Park.

On Saturday, December 16th, 2023 the Park, along with the Yolo County Library and Yolo County Parks Division, is holding a Grand Opening for its new Story Trail installation.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony takes place at 1:00 pm. Attendees can then follow the Story Trail’s path of pages, featuring Señorita Mariposa by Ben Gundersheimer.

With vivid illustrations by Marcos Almada Rivero, this bilingual picture book explores the extraordinary annual migration of monarch butterflies through rhyming text.

No reservations are required for this event. Attendees are encouraged to bring water and dress appropriately.

This is the culminating event of the library’s All Together Outside series, which encourages community members to explore the natural world, learn about local wildlife and regional recreational opportunities, and explore the California State Parks with free day-use passes that library cardholders can borrow.
