Request for Bids: Gordon Slough Erosion Repair Project
The Cache Creek Conservancy (CCC) is accepting bids for its Gordon Slough Erosion Repair Project at the Cache Creek Nature Preserve.
A pre-bid site visit is scheduled for 9 a.m. Thursday, March 23, 2023. Contractors interested in submitting a bid should attend the pre-bid meeting at the Cache Creek Nature Preserve.
The Conservancy is accepting proposals until 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2023.
Bid opening is at the Conservancy office on April 10, 2023.
The CCC received a Public Assistance grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in August 2019 to repair the damage caused by the 2019 floods.
The Gordon Slough Erosion Repair Project will repair the erosion and slumping damage along the Salisbury Spillway channel and north levee. The project consists of installing 735 cubic yards of compacted soil within the spillway channel and levee slope and mitigating future erosion potential by installing riprap and willow plantings.

The Gordon Slough receives water via the West Adams Canal, an irrigation canal operated by the Yolo County Flood Control and Water Conservation District. If there is no irrigation water sold during the year, the canal and slough will go dry as it did in 2022. This year both the canal and slough have water because of the 2023 rains.
“We are excited to start this project,” said Nancy Ullrey, executive director of the CCC, who manages the nature preserve. “Unfortunately, between COVID shutdowns and lack of supplies and contractors, we’ve had unavoidable delays. We look forward to completing the project this year.”
Contractors may also reach out to the CCC by contacting Lynne Haralson, CCC habitat restoration specialist, at 530-378-4746 or via email [email protected].
